Scottie Pippen: You can’t ask me who’s the GOAT between LeBron and Michael. Neither one of them are GOATs. They both won differently. You can’t put them at the top of the pinnacle. Magic Johnson, to me, is a bigger GOAT than anybody. Because of how he led, how he brought a whole team together, how when the greatest scorer in the game, Kareem, wasn’t there, he stepped in as a rookie center and played a position no one even knew he could play.

A lot of postgame talk about the Lakers’ thin margin of error.
Or as LeBron James put it after Sunday night’s loss to the Clippers: “We don’t have room for error – for much error.”

Michael Jordan was 0-3 against the Pistons in the playoffs before finally beating them en route to his 1st ring.
Josh Allen is 0-3 against the Chiefs in the playoffs entering next week.
I know there is ‘Mahomes is MJ’ vibes but KC certainly also has some Bad Boy villain vibes. – 11:17 PM

The stretch without LeBron or Reaves on the floor wasn’t very long, but was an absolute killer. The Lakers’ deficit grew from six to twelve. One of those dudes always has to be on the floor (unless maybe the Lakers are working with a big lead). AK – 10:02 PM

More on this storyline
Scottie Pippen: When you talk about the level of competitiveness, uh, Michael bunched up all of his competitiveness and sort of exposed it to the world within 12 to 14 years. We saw his whole résumé—his competitiveness, his drive, his will to win, and what he wanted to do. When someone like LeBron has to spread that out over 20-plus years, it’s not the same drive. It’s not the same fight. It’s not the same hunger. So when people try to make those comparisons between the two players, man, it’s like talking about someone in the front seat and someone in the back seat. They ain’t even in the same lane. -via YouTube / January 20, 2025
Dave McMenamin: After the Lakers’ loss to the Clippers, JJ Redick admitted: “We don’t have a huge margin for error. … Nor can we create that margin organically.” LeBron James’ response? “That’s the way our team is constructed. … We have to play close to perfect basketball [to win].” pic.x.com/JY3za08U0j -via Twitter @mcten / January 20, 2025

Patrick Bet-David: Cristiano Ronaldo has 647 million followers right now on Instagram. How big would it have been, if social media was around when you guys were playing… maybe Dennis Rodman would have had the most following. who knows? Scottie Pippen: It would have been different. Definitely looking at these numbers you don’t know how being a player that played in the 90s, how these numbers come about and what they really mean, because we didn’t grow up in this social media era. But definitely who you’re talking about, Ronaldo is one of the greatest players, and greatest athletes in the world, and 647 million speaks for itself. Patrick Bet-David: So do you think Michael would have been there if social media was at that time? Scottie Pippen: I think he would have probably doubled that, I’m going to be honest. -via YouTube / January 19, 2025
Scottie Pippen on Michael Jordan: ‘He’s is a very difficult person to deal with. I played with him for years, so I know that when it’s time for you to move in your direction then go in your direction, don’t sit there and try to procrastinate or stretch it that the relationship is not where it was or not what it used to be and it’s never going to be the same, so why try and make something out of nothing, or try to make something that was never there. So yeah, great teammate, but we just never were great friends. -via YouTube / January 19, 2025
