Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass announced that checkpoints into the Palisades fire zone will remain in place indefinitely, with Gov. Gavin Newsom offering additional resources to ensure the area “remains secure while freeing up LAPD to focus on the public safety needs of the entire city.”
