Hit spy series The Night Agent shows no signs of slowing down. With plenty of story left to tell, there’s no wonder fans are clamoring for more only days after they reconnected with the dashing Peter Sutherland.
Thankfully, the show is already in production for new episodes – so the hiatus between seasons shouldn’t be as long this time around.
As one of Netflix’s most-streamed series, the stakes are high for The Night Agent to continue delivering thrill after thrill. In other words, we’re fairly certain the wait will be worth it.
The Night Agent Season 3 Release Date
The Night Agent premiered in 2023 and soon became one of the most popular titles on Netflix. The show was streamed for a whopping 812,100,000 hours, proving that viewers vibe with well-paced action content.
Season 2 dropped on January 23, 2025, and once again became the #1 show on the platform. Given its popularity, Netflix already announced that The Night Agent will return for season 3, allowing fans to breathe easy knowing they haven’t reached the end of the road quite yet.
While we don’t have an official premiere date, the series is already in production. Season 2 was delayed by the Hollywood strikes, so we can expect the current break between seasons to be shorter. New episodes might arrive on streaming in early 2026.

What Will The Night Agent Season 3 Be About?
The Night Agent revolves around FBI agent Peter Sutherland. In season 2, he manages to prevent a chemical weapons attack, but his past catches up with him. Peter ends up severing his relationship with Rose and agreeing to act as a double agent in an effort to expose a wider conspiracy.
We don’t know much about season 3, but we expect the plot to be just as explosive as fans expect. Chelsea Arrington, played by Fola Evans-Akingbola, will return for the new episodes, with Jennifer Morrison (House M.D.) and Stephen Moyer (True Blood) also joining the cast.
While Peter and Rose share a strong bond, the creators are keeping mum about whether Luciane Buchanan will come back for season 3 at the time of writing. We can only hope.
Is The Night Agent Season 3 Based on a Book?
The Night Agent is based on an espionage novel by Matthew Quirk. While the first season adapts the book, everything that comes after is original. With only one book available, the show creators had to expand on their own.
Otherwise put, you can’t read the books to find out what happens next. You’ll have to wait for the new episodes.
