Lucy Dacus is back with news of her next album. Forever is a Feeling, the follow-up to 2021’s Home Video, will be released on March 28 via Geffen. Along with the announcement, the boygenius musician has shared two new songs, ‘Limerence’ and ‘Ankles’, the first of which is accompanied by a music video shot in Paris and featuring Havana Rose Liu from Bottoms. Check it out below, and scroll down for the album cover (created by visual artist Will St. John) and Dacus’ upcoming tour dates.
After releasing her first three albums on Matador, Forever is a Feeling marks Dacus’ major-label debut. It features contributions from Phoebe Bridgers, Julien Baker, Blake Mills, Bartees Strange, Madison Cunningham, Collin Pastore, Jake Finch, and Melina Duterte. Dacus wrote most of the songs between fall 2022 and summer 2024. “I got kicked in the head with emotions,” she explained. “Falling in love, falling out of love.” She added, “You have to destroy things in order to create things. And I did destroy a really beautiful life.”
Commenting on the album title, Dacus said, “You can’t actually capture forever. But I think we feel forever in moments. I don’t know how much time I’ve spent in forever, but I know I’ve visited.”
Dacus’ tour in support of Forever Is a Feeling kicks off on April 16 in Philadelphia and will wrap up on May 14 with a show in Los Angeles. The musician is partnering with PLUS1 so that $1 per ticket goes to those impacted by the LA wildfires.
